Deep Blues Festival 2008 – Adam Posnak

“Archaic, post-apocalyptic, country blues, desperately trying to gain a foot-hold in the long line of low down rounders that includes Charlie Patton, Hambone Willie Newbern, Joshua Peg Leg Howell, R.L. Burnside, and Tom Waits. A voice that sounds like it was hermetically sealed in a rusted iron box 100 years ago, buried in a Georgia graveyard, which has since become swampland. A half-electrified guitar that sounds like it is being run through an early, experimental torture devise. Growing up in Macon, Georgia, Posnak was taken early by the diabolical forces of his father’s record collection: Leadbelly, Little Richard, Howlin’ Wolf, Jerry Lee Lewis. Following a period living in south Louisiana, a block from the Mississippi River and Highway 61, Posnak now resides in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas, and is a member of the rarely seen, nocturnal, big band/duo Uncle Cuckleburr’s Champion Possum Carvers. True to its title this album was recorded completely live, in a century old Ozark farmhouse. Only one overdub was employed. The instruments are 6-string, 12-string, national guitar and the floorboards.” source: myspace artist bio 2008
